Diesel men's shoes is just one division of Diesel, which is a design company in Italy. Their clothing and shoes are aimed at a younger adult market, and their brand is now founded on not just shoes and jeans but also fragrances and other items. This company is in northern Italy, in Molvena, and it is owned and run by co- founder Renzo Rosso.

Diesel women's shoes are part of a company founded by Rosso and the man who was his original boss, A. Goldschmied, in 1978. The milestone years for Diesel include the year 1985 when Renzo acquired the complete company. In addition, 1988 stands out as the year that Wilbert Das was hired straight from fashion school. He is now the Creative Director for Diesel.

In 1991, the company began marketing internationally. In 1996, Diesel sneakers and other items were first seen in their new store on Lexington Avenue in New York City. In 2007, Diesel expanded into the area of beachwear and intimates for both women and men, and these are carried in various department and retail store locations. Diesel Black Gold was formed in November of 2007.

Diesel now boasts roughly 2200 employees, and they work in Asia, Europe and in the Americas. You can find Diesel men's shoes and Diesel women's shoes in nearly five thousand retail stores, and three hundred of those are Diesel stores. Jean sales account for a great deal of the Diesel revenue, but Diesel sneakers and other shoes are also successful, including forays into children's wear, from their Diesel Kid division. The largest retail store is currently their Italian store, in Milan.

Diesel also helped to found the International Talent Support, through sales of Diesel sneakers and many other items. Diesel has given contributions of a creative type to the Vienna Life Ball AIDS Charity in 2006, and they are affiliated with the Sundance Film Festival. The company's innovative marketing approach has allowed it to become one of the original clothing and shoe companies to market products even through video games. They are working with Sony in Europe, with ideas to sell designs in the Sony Home Playstation.

Diesel sneakers and the rest of their shoe line are watched over faithfully by Wilbert Das. He also directs the product design of Diesel men's shoes and Diesel women's shoes, and maintains the communications between their various campaigns. You can see Diesel sneakers and other shoes at fashion events, and in more recent years, their Diesel women's shoes and Diesel men's shoes may be seen in projects like Diesel's U-Music Contest, also known as the artistic program.

The main line is the Diesel line, and they also have the Black Gold line, which was begun in 2007 as a luxury-casual line. Diesel sneakers and footwear are unique and made from quality materials, and there are many followers around the world. They also sell intimates and bags, eyewear, watches (known as Fossil) and jewelry. Their fragrances include those marketed under the L'Oreal name. Diesel Home has also been recently launched, with help from Moroso and Foscarini.
