The refined taste has transformed Carolina Herrera clothes in classic and timeless guaranteed success.

History

The designer Maria Carolina Josefina Pacanins y Nino de Herrera Guevara, known as Carolina Herrera, was born on January 8, 1939 in Caracas, Venezuela. She was the daughter of a couple descendant of an aristocratic family in Venezuela. When she was 13, her grandmother took her to a trip to Paris, where she discovered the Spanish designer Cristobal Balenciaga, who inspired her in work. At 25, she began working as Public Relations at Pucci House, in Venezuela. Then she met Maria Teresa Herrera, mother of Reinaldo, who was the editor of Vanity Fair magazine. She married Reinaldo in 1968. Having been for years part of the list of best-dressed women of the United States, in September 1980 she presented her first work as a test.

With her work being very well received by critics, she won the backing of a Venezuelan investor named Armando de Armas, to create a company in the following year. At that time, she moved with her family permanently to New York. Established in the city, it was only in April that she officially presented her first collection "prt--porter" at the Metropolitan Museum. With an overlap of different types of textile in varying lengths, she quickly won major customers, including the cosmetics queen Estee Luadir and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, which commissioned Carolina Herrera the wedding dress of her daughter Caroline. Immediately, big department stores bought her clothes. She easily made the transition to a more streamlined trend of the middle 80s, and became famous for her elegant clothes for day and night. use

Carolina Herrera also began to make collections of wedding dresses, but it was the perfume that helped spread her name worldwide. This happened in 1988, when the Spanish fragrance company of Antonio Puig created the famous female perfume CAROLINA HERRERA. From this time the designer had built an empire which was consolidated with the launch of such hits as Herrera for Men, first male fragrance of the brand, inspired by two men with major participation in the life of the stylist: her husband Reinaldo Herrera and Guillermo Pacanins, her father. This perfume was released in 1991. The 212 was one of the most successful fragrances of the brand, inspired by a New York "avant-garde" style and launched in 1997. Her first perfumes became, in less than a decade, in true classics in the world of fragrances and continue contemporary as in the day of their release.

At that time the brand launched the accessories line(bags, shoes, leather goods, and handkerchiefs), ladies clothes and the latest collection for men. The first store of the brand CAROLINA HERRERA only opened in 2000, in the famous Madison Avenue in New York. In subsequent years the brand has introduced products in many segments, including a second line of clothing and accessories at more affordable prices. In 2008, the stylist and her daughter, Carolina Adriana (responsible for the successful 212, the first fragrance of the brand), attended a dinner celebrating the 20 anniversary of her first fragrance brand, held at Fasano house in Sao Paulo. The celebration was accompanied by a display of dresses and perfumes launched by the brands CH Carolina Herrera and Carolina Herrera.
